# Terms of Use — klat.app

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website klat.app and the mobile application klat (collectively, the "Services"), provided by Klat Group LLC ("klat," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

## 1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use klat. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

## 2. Nature of the Service — Not Medical Advice

klat is a communication coach and educational tool. klat is **not** a therapist, counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or licensed medical or mental health provider. klat does **not** provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The content and responses you receive from klat are for informational and educational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for any questions regarding your health or well-being.

## 3. Account

To use certain features, you must create an account (via Apple ID, email, or anonymous guest). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at care@klat.app if you suspect unauthorized use.

## 4. Subscription and Payments

- **Free trial:** klat offers a 3-day free trial. You may be required to provide payment information to start the trial.
- **Auto-renewal:** After the trial, your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price ($15/month at launch, subject to change) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- **Billing:** Apple App Store processes all payments. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through your Apple ID account settings.
- **Refunds:** Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy.

## 5. Acceptable Use

You agree **not** to:
- Use klat to plan, encourage, or facilitate harm to yourself or others.
- Use klat to deceive, manipulate, or abuse another person.
- Share another person's private information without their consent.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Services.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

## 6. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to klat (messages, screenshots, answers). By submitting content, you grant klat a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Services to you.

You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to share it.

## 7. Intellectual Property

All materials provided by klat (including the app, website, text, graphics, logos, and software) are the property of Klat Group LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

The Gottman method and related trademarks are the property of The Gottman Institute. **klat is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Gottman Institute.** klat draws on publicly available relationship research, including Gottman's published work, as one of multiple frameworks informing our coaching approach.

## 8. Third-Party Services

klat integrates with third-party services including Apple (authentication, payments, App Store) and AI model providers. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

## 9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, klat DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

klat does not guarantee any particular outcome in your relationships or conversations. Results depend on many factors outside klat's control.

## 10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KLAT GROUP LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

## 11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Klat Group LLC from any claim arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

## 12. Termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time via **Settings → Delete Account**. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

## 13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use after the update means you accept the revised Terms.

## 14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the Kyrgyz Republic, unless another forum is required by applicable consumer protection law.
